Ukraine Crisis – Update on our intervention

We would like to thank all the people who have so far responded to our appeal by supporting us with a donation. Thanks to your participation and support we are starting our actions in support of the Ukrainian population.

A team of Medu aid workers is now in the town of Siret in Romania, a few kilometres from the Ukrainian border, to assess the humanitarian needs of the fleeing Ukrainian population and plan a medical and psychological intervention.

Today our team from the Psyché centre in Rome, specialised in providing medical and psychological assistance to survivors of violence and conflict, will hold an online training session on stress and trauma management for approximately 40 Romanian volunteers offering support and shelter to Ukrainian refugees arriving at the central station in Bucharest and other Romanian cities.

The people fleeing, including women and children, carry with them the traumas of violence and war. Early intervention with medical and psychological support and support for the volunteers who interact with them is essential.

We know the consequences of violence and conflict, visible and invisible wounds that we strive to heal every day in Italy and abroad.

It is essential that the number of supporters can grow allowing us to bring our medical and psychological experience in the field.
