We want to use our experience to help the Ukrainian people.

In recent weeks we have worked to understand how and where to intervene to bring our support to the Ukrainian population fleeing the war. In humanitarian crises such as this, we need to quickly adapt the interventions according to our strengths.

We felt the duty to respond to this emergency on several fronts. In Italy we are strengthening our intervention capacity, to provide medical-psychological support to the Ukrainian population arriving in our cities at MEDU’s specialised centres. In a few days our team will be on a mission in the refugee camps of the city of Siret in Romania, a few kilometres from the border with Ukraine to understand the humanitarian needs of people on the run, especially women and children.

We will consider whether to intervene with our mobile clinic to bring medicines and basic necessities and provide medical assistance and psychological first aid in the refugee camps.  We are in contact with Romanian volunteers who welcome Ukrainian refugees arriving at Bucharest Central Station, who have asked our specialists for support and training to provide psychological first aid to the many traumatised people they are meeting at this time.

We know the consequences of violence and conflicts on people on the run, visible and invisible wounds  that we are committed to treating every day in Italy and abroad. We know that our experience can help.
