Health care and psychosocial assistance for forced migrants living in Egypt.
The project has the overall objective of safeguarding the fundamental human rights of the forced migrants detained in the detention centers or victims of torture and other degrading and inhuman treatments in Egypt.
In particular, the intervention aims to provide health assistance to forced migrants who are detained in prisons or victims of torture and violence in Egypt. The purpose is to inform European institutions and public opinion to raise awareness on torture and degrading and inhuman treatments against migrants in Egypt and along the migratory routes.
Beneficiaries of the project are migrants coming from Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia and Ethiopia. They are persons arriving in Egypt after fleeing from wars, conflicts, violence, famine and persecutions, coming from countries governed by strong dictatorships and ravaged by internal conflicts.
Activities
• Primary health care and psychological support for migrants;
•Referral of patients with complex deseases to second level health centers;
• Epidemiological monitoring of the beneficiary population and monitoring of the health and hygienic conditions in the detention centers.

Description of activity
It is possible to send the application to become a volunteer in Italy in order to give support for the ordinary tasks of the international desk, in particular being involved in the management of the activities of the projects. At the moment there is no possibility to do an experience as volunteer abroad.
